Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says a major Russian attack shows Moscow's desire to keep fighting. He made the statement on Saturday before leaving for critical talks in the United States.
Russian forces launched drones and missiles at the capital, Kyiv. Zelensky said the assault proves Russia "does not want to end the war."
He accused Moscow of seeking more suffering for Ukraine. The goal, he said, is to increase global pressure.
Zelensky will now meet with U.S. President Donald Trump. Their discussion will focus on a proposed plan to stop the Russian invasion.
