Ukrainian forces executed a series of coordinated drone strikes this week, targeting high-value Russian military assets in occupied Crimea and Donetsk. The attacks demonstrate a continued focus on degrading Russian command and air defense networks.
In Crimea, a Ukrainian drone unit successfully struck a Russian "Nebo-M" radar system. This mobile radar is critical for detecting aircraft and guiding surface-to-air missiles. Its loss temporarily blinds a segment of Russian air defenses on the peninsula.
A separate maritime drone attack targeted and hit a Russian high-speed patrol boat in the Black Sea near Crimea. The strike continues Ukraine's campaign to challenge Russian naval dominance in the region.
Meanwhile, in Donetsk Oblast, Ukrainian drones hit several Russian bases. One confirmed target was a command post and troop deployment area used by Russia's elite 14th Spetsnaz Brigade. This unit is part of the GRU, Russia's military intelligence agency, and is known for conducting covert and special operations.
Military analysts note these simultaneous strikes across different domains—land, air defense, and sea—highlight Ukraine's growing proficiency in using unmanned systems to pressure Russian forces on multiple fronts.
