Gaza Ceasefire? We're Still Waiting for Peace.

A ceasefire was announced on 10 October. But for Palestinians in Gaza, life remains defined by fear and siege. We hear the word "peace" constantly. It is on television screens and in the statements of world leaders. Yet we have not lived a single day of it. Officials announced the truce amid celebrations in Sharm el-Sheikh. Since then, Israeli forces have killed more than 360 Palestinians in Gaza, including about 70 children. Because of the explosions I still hear, I am afraid to leave my house. We are trapped in an endless maze of waiting. We wait for the suffering to stop, for our lives to begin again, and for the deaths to end.
