Ukraine is waiting for Russia's response to a new U.S. proposal to end the war.
The wait follows major Ukrainian attacks on Russian energy targets. On Thursday, Ukraine used British-supplied Storm Shadow missiles and its own drones. Officials say the strikes hit the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery and set two oil storage tanks on fire at the Temryuk port.
Storm Shadow missiles are long-range, precision weapons provided by the United Kingdom.
These military actions come as diplomatic efforts continue. The United States has reportedly given a new framework to Russia for negotiations. Kyiv has stated it will only agree to a plan that fully restores its territory.
