Officials say the goal is to restore lost vegetation. Recent wildfires in Lattakia destroyed significant areas of forest cover. The new campaign aims to directly compensate for that environmental damage. Reforestation helps prevent soil erosion and supports local ecosystems. The ministry did not specify how many trees will be planted or the total area to be recovered.
