More than 400 Sudanese refugees with disabilities are living in alarming conditions at a camp in Uganda, a rights group reports.
Mona Abu Al-Qasim, director of the Ayadi Organisation for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, described the situation at the Kiryandongo refugee camp in western Uganda.
She said most of these refugees live in three specific areas of the camp: residential zones A, B, and C.
About half of the cases involve people with mobility impairments. These individuals face significant challenges navigating the camp and accessing basic services.
The Ayadi Organisation advocates for the rights of people with disabilities. It is now highlighting the urgent needs of this vulnerable group within the refugee population.
