Christmas is a major cultural event in many countries, even beyond its religious meaning for Christians. The holiday celebrates the birth of Jesus.
However, not everyone celebrates on the same day. Most Western Christian communities observe Christmas on December 24th and 25th.
But many Eastern Christian groups use the older Julian calendar. For them, the Christmas celebration falls on January 6th and 7th.
This difference means the festive season stretches across two weeks globally.
