Hundreds of people visited the Hong Kong Food Festival on its opening day, Christmas Day. This occurred while many residents traveled out of the city for the holiday.
The five-day fair in Wan Chai features gourmet seafood, snacks, and other delicacies. Attendees showed a strong willingness to spend.
"I’m going to buy whatever catches my eye today," said Angel Wong, a 40-year-old customer service worker. "I don’t think I can get away from spending at least HK$600 [US$77] to HK$700."
Wong, a regular attendee, was among the crowds exploring the festival's offerings. The event continues for four more days.
