Residents of Saydnaya celebrated Christmas Eve with a festive street parade. The historic town is located north of Damascus, Syria.
The Melkite Greek Catholic community organized the event. Its Agia Sophia Ceremonial Band led the "Prince of Peace" carnival through the main streets.
The celebration featured live music and traditional Christmas hymns. Handmade displays also adorned the route.
