A bomb explosion tore through a crowded mosque in northeastern Nigeria on Wednesday, killing at least five people.
Police report that another 35 worshippers were injured in the blast. It occurred during evening prayers in the city of Maiduguri.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. Maiduguri is considered the birthplace of the militant Islamist group Boko Haram.
The region has faced a long-running insurgency involving both Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province.
