Hamas: Israel Responsible for Deadly Rafah Blast

Hamas has denied any involvement in a major explosion that struck the Tel al-Sultan area of Rafah on Sunday. The blast caused significant casualties. It claimed the strike occurred in a designated humanitarian zone, west of Rafah, which it says is under the complete control of the Israeli military. Hamas urged international mediators to pressure Israel to adhere to the rules of engagement agreed upon in recent ceasefire negotiations. The group stated that Israel's actions, which it called a "massacre," violate those terms. Israeli military officials have stated the strike targeted and killed two senior Hamas commanders. They acknowledged reports of civilian casualties and said the incident is under review.
