King Khufu's 4,600-Year-Old Boat Rebuilt Before Museum Visitors' Eyes

A team of experts in Egypt has begun a rare public restoration of a priceless ancient artifact. They are reassembling a cedarwood boat belonging to King Khufu, the pharaoh who built the Great Pyramid. The boat is one of two discovered buried near the Giza pyramids. It dates back approximately 4,600 years. Starting Tuesday morning, specialists carefully pieced together the large wooden components. Dozens of visitors watched the process inside the museum.
