Fourteen nations have condemned Israel's approval of 19 new Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank. They say the move breaks international law and could increase regional instability.
The countries, including Britain, Canada, and Germany, issued their criticism after Israel's security cabinet approved the plans last Sunday.
Israel's far-right Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, stated the approval brings the total number of new settlements in recent years to 69. This marks a record number for such a period.
The international group warned that these settlements are a major obstacle to peace.
