French authorities are investigating a major burglary at a warehouse owned by JD.com, one of China's largest online retailers.
The theft occurred on Monday in Dugny, a suburb north of Paris. The location is a key logistics point between central Paris and Charles de Gaulle Airport, Europe's second-busiest air freight hub. The incident happened during the peak Christmas shopping season.
A judicial source says the investigation is for theft by an organized criminal gang. The suspects first disabled the warehouse's entire video surveillance system.
JD.com has not yet commented on the value of the stolen goods or the scale of the loss.
