Mexican Navy Medical Flight Crashes in Texas, Killing Five

A Mexican Navy plane on a medical mission crashed off the Texas coast on Monday, killing at least five people. The small aircraft was transporting a child patient for treatment in Galveston. The crash happened in foggy conditions near Galveston. It triggered a search in the coastal waters, officials said. The plane carried eight people in total. Mexico’s Navy stated four of those on board were Navy officers. The other four were civilians, including the child patient. Two civilians were from a non-profit organization. This group helps Mexican children with severe burns get medical transports to a Galveston hospital. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
