Syria's deputy defense minister for the northern region has conducted a military readiness review in a key area near the Turkish border.
Brigadier General Faheem Issa held the meeting on Tuesday in the "Peace Spring" zone. He examined the preparedness and positions of army units stationed there.
The meeting was attended by senior officers, including Brigadier General Aqil Amer, commander of the army's 72nd Division.
The "Peace Spring" area in northern Syria is held by Turkish-backed opposition forces. The inspection highlights the ongoing military focus by Damascus on this strategic frontier region.
