UK Man Among Six Charged in 13-Year Spousal Abuse Case

A British man has been charged with drugging and raping his ex-wife. Five other men face sexual offence charges against the same woman in a case spanning 13 years, UK police said Monday. Philip Young, 49, will appear in court Tuesday in Swindon, west of London. He is charged with dozens of offences against his 48-year-old former spouse, Joanne Young. She has waived her legal right to anonymity. The alleged crimes include multiple counts of rape. He is also charged with administering a substance with intent to stupefy, meaning to drug someone. The five other men face charges for sexual offences against Joanne Young during the same period. Police did not detail the men's relationships to the victim or to Philip Young. All six are now awaiting court proceedings.
