Ella Cook, the Brown University student killed in a campus shooting, was remembered at her funeral in Alabama on Saturday.
Friends and family described the 24-year-old as a talented musician and a protective older sister. They said she was deeply committed to her Christian faith.
Cook was one of two people shot outside a campus dining hall on November 17. The other victim, a male student, survived. A Brown University junior has been charged with her murder.
The service focused on Cook's life, not her death. A family member said Cook's faith was "the cornerstone of everything she did."
