Georgetown University has suspended its head men's basketball coach, Ed Cooley, for one game. The school announced the decision on Sunday.
The suspension follows an incident at the end of Georgetown's loss to Xavier on Saturday night. Video shows Cooley throwing a water bottle from the team bench into the spectator stands.
No one was reported injured. The school called the act "unacceptable." Cooley will miss Georgetown's next game as a result.
He has publicly apologized for his actions, stating his behavior did not meet the standards of the program.
