Israel Approves 19 New West Bank Settlements, Defying UN Condemnation

Israel has approved 19 new settlements in the occupied West Bank. This brings the total number of new settlements approved in the last three years to 69.
The move comes just after United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned settlement expansion. He called it a "relentless" process in the occupied territory.
Settlements are communities Israel builds on land it captured in the 1967 war. Most of the world considers them illegal under international law. Israel disputes this.
