Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has warned that Ukraine's collapse would be a "disaster" for his own country.
He cited Hungary's deep energy ties with Ukraine. According to his statement on social media platform X, Hungary supplies 44% of Ukraine's electricity and 58% of its natural gas.
Orban, known for his critical stance on Western aid to Ukraine, framed the potential fall of its neighbor as a direct threat to Hungarian interests. He said it would create serious problems for Hungary.
This marks a rare public admission from Orban about Hungary's reliance on the Ukrainian market for its energy exports.
