Two UN agencies warn that Sudan's shelter crisis has reached a breaking point. The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) say 15.4 million people urgently need shelter. However, severe funding shortages mean only 10% of them can be prioritized for assistance.
The agencies state that without immediate funding, millions will remain without basic protection. Shelter is a first-line defense for people displaced by conflict, especially women and children.
