Indonesia will urge Southeast Asian nations to formally ratify the agreement creating the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Transboundary Haze Pollution Control, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. The push will come at the upcoming ASEAN summit.
The centre is designed to coordinate regional efforts against haze pollution, which regularly blankets parts of Southeast Asia. The agreement establishing it, however, has not yet been ratified by all member states.
Indonesia, as host of the upcoming summit, will press fellow ASEAN members to complete the ratification process.
