Dave Chisnall is out of the PDC World Darts Championship after a stunning 3-2 defeat to Ricardo Pietreczko. This happened despite Chisnall hitting 11 maximum 180 scores in the match.
The English player, seeded 21st, lost the first two sets due to poor finishing on the double segments of the board. He fought back to level the match with incredible scoring. In the final set, Chisnall even took a 2-1 lead.
He then had a chance to win the match with a 143 checkout. He missed his attempt on double 16, however. Pietreczko seized the opportunity, capitalizing on Chisnall's missed match dart to win the deciding set and the game.
Earlier on the same day, Dirk van Duijvenbode and Motomu Sakai were also eliminated from the tournament at London's Alexandra Palace.
