US strikes Iran's Qeshm Island in Hormuz Strait

The United States has attacked the Iranian island of Qeshm in the Strait of Hormuz, according to The Wall Street Journal and Fox News. Both outlets cite sources in the US government. US officials told Fox News that the attack was a response to Iran first firing at an American aircraft on Monday evening. The Iranian news agency IRNA reports that residents on the island heard five explosions and saw two aircraft in the sky.
