The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., has a new name on its facade. A sign now reads "The Donald J. Trump and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center For the Performing Arts."
This change is unprecedented. No sitting U.S. president has ever had a national institution named after them before.
Members of the Kennedy family have publicly questioned the action. They have asked whether adding a sitting president's name to the federally funded building is legal.
The new signage appeared just one day after the name change was announced.
