Ukraine defies Trump, resumes oil refinery strikes

Ukraine has restarted long-range drone attacks on Russian oil refineries, ignoring pressure from Donald Trump just days before US midterm elections. Russian state media reported on Sunday that Ukrainian drones set fire to the Kstovo refinery in Nizhny Novgorod overnight. The strike came soon after another major attack on a large refinery in Samara, owned by Russian state energy giant Rosneft. The Kremlin said Kyiv is "simply ignoring" US wishes. A ceasefire in the occupied town of Oleshky is due to end late on Sunday.
