The UN refugee agency (UNHCR) says 9 million people across four crisis-hit countries need winter assistance. It has launched a $50 million winter campaign to help them.
The agency warns that rising living costs and shortages in humanitarian funding threaten support for vulnerable families. Without enough money, many of these families may not receive the help they need to survive the winter.
