Blue wave? Democrats could sweep deep-red states in midterms.

A major political shift may be coming in the US midterm elections. Dr Richard Johnson, Senior Lecturer in US Politics & Policy at Queen Mary University of London, says Democrats could win seats on a scale not seen since Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential victory. He points to strong Democratic enthusiasm and growing support among independents, white college-educated voters and Latinos. He also sees signs that some of Donald Trump’s most loyal supporters may be turning away.
