Kasikornbank Bets on AI to Multiply Wealth Clients

📡 Nikkei Asia · 1 min read ·
Kasikornbank (KBank), Thailand's second-largest bank by assets, plans to use artificial intelligence to expand its wealth management customer base. The bank aims to reach a much larger group of investors by automating personalized advice that was previously available only to the wealthy. KBank will deploy AI tools to analyze customer data and recommend investment products suited to each person's income, goals, and risk tolerance. The approach allows the bank to serve mass-market customers at a lower cost than traditional relationship managers. Wealth management has become a key battleground for Thai banks as competition intensifies and customers seek higher returns. KBank expects AI-driven advice to help it capture customers who currently invest on their own or hold only savings deposits. The bank has not disclosed how many customers it aims to add or how much it will invest in the technology. It said the rollout would begin with pilot programs before a wider launch.
