Provisional results on Wednesday morning showed major losses for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s bloc. However, the opposition, led by Gadi Eisenkot, did not unseat Netanyahu’s Likud party, which remains the largest party.
Neither bloc is able to form a government. Arab parties made historic gains and will play a role in future coalitions.
