Israel's opposition leader Gadi Eisenkot promised Wednesday to move quickly to form a government, saying voters had rejected Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's divisive rule. However, neither side won a majority in the first election since the October 7 attack.
Exit polls showed Eisenkot — a former military chief and political newcomer — and his opposition bloc tied with Netanyahu's hard-right camp in Tuesday's vote. Turnout was the highest in decades.
