Millions of people in Sudan face severe hunger as civil war, drought and funding cuts deepen a growing humanitarian crisis. Western governments warn that famine risk is rising across the country.
The conflict between rival military groups has disrupted farming, blocked aid deliveries and forced people from their homes. Drought has made food production even harder. At the same time, cuts to humanitarian funding have reduced the help available to those in need.
Aid agencies say they cannot reach many affected areas because of fighting and security problems. They warn that without more funding and safe access, the hunger crisis will worsen in the coming months.
