At least seven Colombian soldiers are dead and 30 wounded after a drone attack on a military base. The assault happened Thursday night near the border with Venezuela.
The National Liberation Army (ELN), a rebel group, carried out the attack using drones armed with explosives. The ELN is Colombia's oldest active guerrilla army. It was founded in 1964 and controls areas used for drug production.
Peace talks between Colombia's government and the ELN have repeatedly failed to end the conflict. The group continues to launch violent attacks.
