Police have confirmed the death of the suspect in a shooting at Brown University. The 48-year-old Portuguese national died by suicide, authorities said.
Investigators have linked the same suspect to the fatal shooting of a university professor in Boston. That incident occurred two days after the violence in Providence.
Together, the two attacks resulted in three deaths. Police say the motives for the shootings are still unknown.
The investigation by local and federal authorities continues.
