Suspect in Brown University Shooting, MIT Professor Murder Found Dead

Police have confirmed a single gunman was responsible for two separate attacks in the northeastern United States this week. The suspect first opened fire at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Two days later, the same individual shot and killed a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge. Authorities discovered the suspect's body on Thursday night. The person died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Investigators have not released a motive for the attacks. They are working to determine the connection between the suspect and the locations. The name of the suspect is being withheld pending family notification. The identity of the deceased MIT professor has also not yet been released.
