A man stole an aircraft and crashed it into a building at Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles early Tuesday. The suspect has been arrested.
Officials say the man first broke into a building at a flight school on the airport grounds. He then accessed and hijacked a single-engine plane.
The stolen aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff. It hit a storage building at the airport. No one was in the building at the time of the crash, and only the suspect was on board the plane. His condition is unknown.
The FBI is leading the investigation into the incident. Authorities have not released the suspect's identity or a possible motive.
