A senior United Nations official says food distribution in Gaza has improved, but he warns that living conditions for civilians remain catastrophic.
The World Food Program (WFP) now has all its aid networks operating. "As we speak, all our distribution networks for the World Food Program are actually up and running," the WFP's representative stated at a recent news conference.
This marks a critical step in preventing famine. However, the official stressed that the overall humanitarian situation is still "dire."
The increase in food deliveries does not solve other severe crises. Gaza's population continues to face a lack of clean water, healthcare, and safe shelter. The UN warns that recovery will require a sustained and massive international effort.
