China could become the new Middle East for clean energy
The world must not repeat the mistake of depending on one region for its energy. As countries move away from oil and gas, they risk shifting that dependence to China instead of ending it. Clean energy relies on materials like rare earth minerals, which are used to make batteries, solar panels and wind turbines. China controls much of the processing of these materials. Diversifying energy sources means spreading them across many countries, not replacing one supplier with another.
