A major new exhibition in Marseille is challenging cultural boundaries. Belgian-Moroccan artist Mous Lamrabat presents "Moustalgia," a series that blends North African heritage with global pop culture symbols.
Lamrabat, born in Morocco and raised in Belgium, uses photography to explore identity. His work examines how cultural symbols affect desire and visibility. He focuses particularly on representing marginalized communities.
In "Moustalgia," traditional Moroccan garments appear alongside modern luxury brand logos. Iconic Western imagery is reimagined within a Maghrebi context. The exhibition invites viewers to question the roots of their aesthetic tastes.
The show is now open to the public in Marseille.
