Student protests in France are growing, driven by public anger over the rising cost of living. The movement is now raising a difficult question: should students join larger protest groups, or would that make their message harder to hear?
Genie Godula spoke with Sébastien Vieille, national secretary of the SNALC teachers' union. He shared his assessment of a movement facing political uncertainty, poor school infrastructure, and tight budgets.
Speaking from Montbéliard in eastern France, Vieille asked whether alliances with bigger protest movements, such as the Yellow Vests, would strengthen students' demands or make them "less visible."
