A U.S. court has sentenced Brian Walshe to life in prison for murdering his wife, Ana. He will not be eligible for parole.
The sentencing followed an emotional statement from the victim's sister. She addressed the court directly on Friday.
Prosecutors described the January 2023 killing as "barbaric." They said Brian Walshe dismembered his wife's body and disposed of the remains.
Ana Walshe, a 39-year-old mother of three, was reported missing from the couple's home in Massachusetts. Her body has never been found.
Brian Walshe was convicted earlier this year. The life sentence was the mandatory punishment for his first-degree murder conviction.
