SenseTime's Open-Source "World Model" Aims to Power a Robot Revolution

Chinese AI leader SenseTime has entered the competitive field of embodied intelligence. The company open-sourced a key AI model and unveiled a robotic dog. Embodied intelligence refers to AI that controls a physical body, like a robot, to interact with the real world. SenseTime's new division, Ace Robotics, released the "Kairos 3.0" model and a developer platform called "KaiWu." Kairos 3.0 is a "world model." It is designed to simulate the physical world so robots can learn and plan actions before executing them. Making it open-source means any developer can use and modify the technology freely. The company also showed its first robotic dog, named "Little Rice." It is powered by these new AI systems. SenseTime stated that Ace Robotics will push for the large-scale commercial use of embodied AI. This move positions SenseTime against other global tech firms racing to build smarter, more capable robots. The strategy relies on attracting a broad developer community through its free, open-source model.
