IMF: Global Growth to Hit 3.1% in 2026, But Middle East Set to Shrink

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecasts the global economy will grow 3.1% in 2026. However, the Middle East and Central Asia will move in the opposite direction. The IMF has revised its growth forecast for the Middle East and Central Asia down to minus 0.3%. This is the largest downward revision of any region. The contraction means the region's economy will shrink, not grow.
