Hong Kong's Cathay Pacific Airways is investigating after one of its passenger planes used an incorrect taxiway at Manila's airport.
The incident involved flight CX918, which was departing from Ninoy Aquino International Airport for Hong Kong on December 17. During its taxi to the runway, the aircraft entered a taxiway it was not authorized to use.
This mistake caused delays for two other flights, the airline confirmed. A spokesman stated Cathay Pacific is fully cooperating with local authorities in their investigation.
The airline emphasized that safety is its utmost priority. The investigation will review the actions of the flight crew to determine how the error occurred.
