Ukrainians are expressing deep feelings of betrayal following reports of a diesel deal between the Trump administration and Russia.
Reporting from central Ukraine, FRANCE 24’s Gulliver Cragg says the agreement has shocked many who viewed the United States as a beacon of freedom and democracy.
“A lot of Ukrainians are feeling extremely betrayed by a country that until recently they saw not only as an ally but as a beacon of freedom and democracy,” Cragg said.
He added that this admiration is now “disintegrating” as the reality of the deal sets in.
