Panama's President José Raúl Mulino says there are no reports of deaths so far after a powerful earthquake struck the country on Friday. The quake, with a magnitude of 7.7, hit Panama at around 8:00 p.m. Norwegian time. Speaking to journalists early Saturday, Mulino said authorities working to clarify the situation have not yet received any reports of deaths. "But they are in the process of confirming this," he said, stressing that only a few hours had passed since the quake. "It is possible that there are deaths. But let us hope there are not," the president said.
