King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh was attacked Saturday afternoon, Saudi Arabia's aviation authority said on X.
At least five people are in hospital with serious injuries after explosions at the airport. Witnesses say many more are wounded, and doctors have been called in to hospitals, according to the news agency AFP.
All flights from the airport have been stopped.
The U.S. embassy is telling all Americans to stay away from the airport area in Riyadh.
The attack comes after a period of repeated strikes on Saudi Arabia by the Houthi militia. Saudi Arabia recently began an offensive against the militia in Yemen.
The Houthis have claimed responsibility for two other attacks on the same airport earlier this week, according to CNN. Three people were reportedly killed in an attack on Thursday.
The full extent of the damage from today's incident is still unclear.
