A massive fire in Hong Kong has claimed the lives of nine Indonesian domestic workers, including a woman remembered as a selfless caregiver.
Desi Widiana, 40, died when fire tore through Wang Fuk Court in the Tai Po district on November 26. The disaster killed at least 160 people and left thousands homeless.
Widiana had spent half her life in Hong Kong. She worked caring for other families while her own remained in Sambi village, East Java, thousands of kilometres away.
Her family and community now await her final homecoming. They describe her as someone who was always there for others, right up to the end.
