France's School Protests Turn Violent as Students Demand Repairs

French high school students are protesting across the country. They want the government to fix crumbling schools, replace absent teachers, reduce class sizes, and close the gap between rich and poor schools. These demands are reasonable. On Tuesday, protesters held their biggest day of action yet, called "Act 3." More than 400 schools closed as a precaution. Students blocked buildings and marched through central Paris. But the debate around these protests has become angry and divided. Some fear this is a preview of how next year's election tensions will play out.
